CPR COURSES FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions by people interested in taking a Can-Fit-Pro CPR course. If you have a question that is not answered below then please contact us.

1) Why should I take Can-Fit-Pro's CPR course?
Can-Fit-Pro is the industry leader in accessible, affordable, attainable and high-quality fitness certification. The CPR course will prepare you to properly perform CPR in any emergency and will enable you to help save someone's life.

2) Are there any pre-requisites in taking any of the CPR courses?
If you are taking the full course, then there are no pre-requisites. However, if you are taking a recertification course, you must make sure that you have an existing CPR certificate or that your last CPR certification expired less than 3 months prior to the date of the recertification course.

3) How old do you have to be in order to take the CPR course?
Everyone can benefit from learning CPR skills! The CPR course is available to anyone who is interested in learning how to properly perform CPR. You do not have to be a certain age in order to take the CPR course.

4) What level of CPR do I require if I need to complete my professional certification?
You can complete CPR Level A or C, both of which are offered by Can-Fit-Pro, in order to obtain your professional certification.

5) Is there a written exam?
No, you will be evaluated on your CPR competencies and skills during the CPR course.

6) What will I do during the course?
During the course, you will learn how to properly perform CPR in a cardiac arrest situation; whether it is for work-related purposes or any other unforeseen emergency.

7) How do I register?
Register online or click here to get a registration form that you may print and fax, or mail, to Can-Fit-Pro. You may also contact us at 800-667-5622 ext 224 to register over the phone using a Visa or MasterCard.

8) How do I get forms to sign up for courses or exams?
Click here to download or call the Certification Department at 1-800-667-5622 ext 224 and we will send you certification information when you leave a complete mailing address and phone number. Or via email at courses@canfitpro.com .

9) How do I know that you have received my registration?
You will receive a receipt and confirmation by mail or e-mail, of your registration into the course, within two weeks of completing the payment for your course.

10) Do I receive a certificate?
All successful participants in the CPR course will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

11) Do I need to have a professional certification with Can-Fit-Pro or pursuing certification to take a CPR course?
No, the courses are designed so that anyone can learn how to properly perform CPR in the situation of a cardiac arrest; whether it is for work-related purposes or any other unforeseen emergency.

12) In terms of content, how reliable is the resource manual?
The resource was developed in accordance with guidelines which are founded on the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Consensus on Science.

14) Do I have to travel far to take a CPR course?

15) If I have a professional certification with Can-Fit-Pro, will I earn CECs by taking a CPR course?
A current CPR certificate is mandatory is order to recertify and does not give you any CECs for recertification.

16) Where is your certification recognized? Locally, provincially, nationally, internationally?
Can-Fit-Pro's CPR course was developed in accordance with guidelines which are founded on the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Consensus on Science, similar to most other available CPR courses.

17) Can you work with a local contact person, or do you deal with a faceless bureaucracy?
Your PRO Trainer is your local contact, and the Can-Fit-Pro office is always available to help you!

18) Can you reach a "real person" for assistance during regular business hours or will you be lost in voice mail systems?
Our office is staffed Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm EST. We return all phone calls within 24 business hours. No summer shut downs - we're here 12 months a year!

19) Does the organization offer a toll-free phone number for questions and assistance?
Why should you pay a long distance charge?
