 The Sexy Fitness Instructional Workshop is an educational program geared towards Fitness Instructors, Dance Instructors and Performers, with the purpose of enhancing teaching techniques in this discipline of fused fitness and dance. It is a 3-hour workshop of both theory and practical dance and fitness to aid and inspire participants (a.k.a. future strip aerobic instructors), to create a class that is sexy and fun for the average woman!  If you are presently a fitness instructor, body flow instructor, personal trainer, massage therapist or if you wish to deepen your own yoga practice, you are an excellent candidate for our 2 day training. Learn all the basic postures of yoga, along with some adaptations. Safety considerations will be taught, as well as an introduction to yoga philosophy and history. October 20 - November 28: Balanced Fitness 6-week Personal Training Practical Work Experience Program

 This 6-week hands-on personal training work experience program is designed to provide newly certified trainers or those working toward certification completion with additional practical experience, training skills and confidence as they enter the field of personal training. The 6-week program will also focus on the business, sales and long-term client retention skills and strategies needed to grow your client base, and create long-term client retention. This 6-week program includes 15 hours of job shadowing, weekly practice training sessions, program design evaluation, conducting first-time consultations, and strategies and techniques for handling objections and marketing yourself as a trainer. Applicants of the Program must complete an Application Form and submit it with a cover letter, resume, and updated copy of CPR. Students accepted into the program will be notified directly by Program Supervisor. Please note: To provide program participants with the most valuable training experience possible the program is limited to 2 students per 6 week session.

 Aquatic Post Rehabilitation & Reactivation for People with Common Hip & Knee Joint Problems! This workshop will focus on knee and hip problems by reviewing real life case studies where vertical water training plays a vital role in the wellness regime. An in depth review of the mechanics of both the knee and hip joint and common injuries will set the stage for discussing and trying suggested exercises that will improve the function of the knee and hip joints, keeping in mind, we are working with the whole person… not just the knee or the hip. You will have the option of actually going in the pool (in both chest deep and deep water) during the practical part of this session or observing from the deck. ‘Parent & Tot’ Aqua Fitness Class Design & Delivery! Get them active while their young! Learn the structure, the design and the exact delivery of a ‘Parent & Tot’ aqua fitness class with babies (6-18 months), in floating seats and adults exercising alongside.  The Intro to Healing Waters (HW) Prep Course is the entry portal to all other HW specialties. This AQUATIC POST Rehab course will prepare the Fitness professional, as well as others with an interest in the field to work with special populations in the water. Building on the principles taught in the CALA Foundations of Vertical Water Training – The Kopansky Method course, this in depth series of training and certification courses qualifies the leader to design and deliver aquatic exercise classes and exercise programs for specialty populations (usually in warm pools…89-94f temp).  Each September, we offer our 100 Hour Teacher Training Intensive. 10 Sunday Afternoons from September to March, plus home assignments and class observations/reports. The curriculum focuses on how Yoga works, the history and philosophical groundings of Yoga, and an exploration of the fundamental poses of Yoga. The style of yoga is Iyengar-based, Vinyasa Flow Yoga – a dynamic system that marries mind, asana and breath. You will also learn how to instruct and set up classes, the purpose of each asana, Yoga teacher ethics, verbal cueing, and some hands-on corrections. Yoga Teacher Training Eligibility No pre-requisites. Everyone welcome! While we recommend a home practice of at least one year, anyone sincerely interested in Yoga is most welcome to enroll in the course in order to expand his or her own practice and knowledge with or without the desire for yoga certification. Our school recognizes its responsibility for maintaining its excellent reputation for high standards. Teaching certificate is awarded on the basis of successful comprehension and mastery of the principles and practice of Yoga as indicated by written assignments, in-class discussion and demonstration of precise alignment and technique. At this workshop you’ll learn: 15 stationary conditioning exercises (for abs, legs, triceps, biceps, etc.) that incorporate your poles; a sequence of 6 post-walk stretches that incorporate your poles; a variety of ways to integrate these exercises and stretches into your classes; and strategies and techniques for dealing with classes with varied ages and fitness levels. This active workshop also includes one-on-one feedback on your Nordic walking and exercise technique. A short time will be included for sharing marketing and business ideas and information within the group.

 This certification course teaches the Rutlin technique developed 18 years ago by Tom Rutlin, the original pioneer of Nordic walking. The technique has been extensively researched and is highly effective in strengthening the cardiovascular system, core muscles and upper body.
