Hot Chocolate Goodess Recipe

I like to think there are always alternatives. Food that nourishes the body, mind and soul is so important for good health. With so many options lining our grocery store shelves, it can be tough to recognize the healthy products from the not so healthy products. If you make a snack or prepare a meal yourself from natural ingredients, then in a way you avoid this problem.

If the lower temperatures start to make you think about preparing a nice cup of hot chocolate, then this recipe is for you. Nutritious and delicious, this hot chocolate or “milk” shake is packed with goodness and doesn’t contain the added sugars, fillers, hormones, and inflammatory properties we usually get from dairy and additives that are added during preparation or packaging.

High in copper, manganese, iron, and magnesium, cacao is your power drink for any occasion, including before or after a workout. Make sure you buy only raw cacao, as the processed types are stripped of their properties and nutrients.

Cacao is a great antioxidant, known to improve mood by raising serotonin levels. It can also satisfy cravings and it is kid approved.

You can make it hot or cold, it’s up to you (and the temperature)!


  • 1 cup warm almond, coconut or cashew milk
  • 1 tsp organic cacao (sugar and filler free)
  • 1 tbsp raw honey, depending on sweetness level you may add less or more
  • a dash of Himalayan pink salt
  • a few drops of real vanilla essence


  • 1 tsp coconut oil or coconut butter


  1. Place all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend, pour into a cup and enjoy.
