"The First Wealth is Health." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

How would you like to build and own a 100 million dollar a year business? Whether you are currently a club owner, manager, personal trainer, or fitness enthusiast, you too can join this elite club by following a few simple steps. Financial fitness offers rewarding benefits, just as physical fitness does. I am not talking about a three-hour work week or the latest two-minute six pack abs fad. There will be a lot of hard work, dedication, discipline, and sacrifice involved if this is going to become your reality. Fortunately, if you are reading this article, then you are already an integral part of the most hardworking, dedicated, disciplined, and driven groups speed walking the face of the planet! Who is going to be your qualified personal trainer in this epic task? I will!

For the first time ever I have designed presentations for you, the canfitpro member. I have spent the better part of twenty years helping to grow a small family business into one of the largest firms of its kind in the world. When I first walked through the doors of Universal Coin and Bullion we were running somewhere in the neighbourhood of three million dollars in annual sales. Our dedicated organization recently surpassed annual revenues in excess of 100 million dollars and we are looking forward to doubling that number in the next few years.

How can I take what I have learned in my life and transfer it to you in yours, you ask? Jim Rohn once said, "success leaves clues." I believe this to be one of the most profound truths in existence. You see, my father delivered me when I was born in the shadows of the Cascade Mountains. He and my mother raised me without running water or electricity well into my teens. I was physically fit, but not because of a specific fitness regimen, but because we often didn't have a car, so I was forced to run wherever I wanted to go. Yes, I know, "Run, Forest, Run!" I worked hard on our farm, I worked smart in the classroom, and I worked right on the sports fields. I learned that in each sector of my life I could get significantly ahead by developing relationships with the experts in each endeavour that I undertook. Teachers, coaches, and bosses took me under their wing and mentored my hungry spirit. As I grew, my hunger never left, but the relationships began to be with Presidents, CEOs, and celebrities. Success really does leave clues and now my passion in life is to make it easy for others to find the same success and fulfillment that I have.

Sometimes it is difficult to learn something from someone that doesn't embody that which they are teaching. "Never trust a skinny cook." "Do as I say, not as I do." "Those who can, do...those who can't, teach." While I don't completely adhere to the belief that you must be able to do what it is that you teach, I do tend to learn better from someone that understands the material AND has used the methods being taught to achieve a significant level of success. It is easier for me to fully buy in to what the personal trainer benching 200 lbs is telling me to do, versus the trainer that can't lift the bar. I emphasize this point in order to make sure that you know I am not a skinny cook, and I CAN lift the bar.

I'm excited to teach three sessions this year at the canfitpro International Fitness and Club Business Conference and help improve your financial fitness: "How to Build a 100 Million Dollar Business" and "How to be Financially Fit in Any Economy" both on Friday, August 8, and "How to Find Your Hidden Revenue Streams" on Saturday, August 9. I truly hope that you are able to make it to the conference this August in Toronto as I will be covering the topics above in detail. I will also teach them in a simple manner that you can understand and immediately implement the concepts and strategies provided.

By sharing the many failures and successes that my company has experienced along our journey, I will be able to assist you in clarifying your purpose, developing your plan, and following your path in order to achieve your desired level of success in business and in life.

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body; it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity." –John F. Kennedy
