•Provide excellent customer service through effective and efficient handling of all client interactions.

•Conduct counselling and exercise instruction upon demonstrating competency with the City of Vaughan protocol.

•Provide on-site supervision of the facility and equipment used within the Fitness Centre.

•Develop personal exercise programs, providing lifestyle information and instruction in the use of muscle conditioning and cardiovascular equipment.

•Assist the Fitness Coordinator in ensuring equipment is safe and maintained, and report any issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

•Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a commitment to customer satisfaction; problem-solving skills; proficient leadership and organizational skills.

•Enrolled in or completed a Degree or Diploma at University or Community College in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related discipline or Personal Training Certification (CanFitPro PTS, CSEP-CPT, ACE, or equivalent). Demonstrated knowledge in the following: Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Principles or Exercise Physiology, Wellness, Fitness, Health Promotion, Human Behaviour, Communication, Counselling, and Exercise Prescription.

•Current holder of Standard First Aid/CPR – C/AED Certification.

•Police Vulnerable Sector Check to be obtained upon offer of the employment-results letter must be presented prior to the employment start date.

•Must be prepared to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
