Yoga Instructor – Part Time

We are looking for Yoga Instructors who are passionate about the practice of yoga, and inspire others to live an active lifestyle. Reporting to the Fitness Coordinator, the Yoga Instructor is accountable for planning, implementing and facilitating safe, effective and motivating Yoga classes.

Key Duties

• Creates and delivers safe, effective, and motivating yoga classes in an organized manner.
• Engages with participants and facilitates a positive and inclusive environment.
• Performs administrative tasks to support the program i.e. monitoring participant sign-in and reporting attendance numbers.
• Works cooperatively and maintains communication with other instructors, staff, and supervisor as necessary.
• Assists in communication to participants, and promotes member incentives.   
• Assists in maintaining safe facilities and equipment, and maintains cleanliness and organization in fitness spaces.

Qualifications/Skills

• Yoga Instructor certification recognized by the Yoga Alliance or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience instructing yoga classes and/or leadership skills and a combination of training, education and experience deemed equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of yoga sequencing, modifications, and program development.
• Knowledge of industry standards as related to yoga classes.
• Organized, enthusiastic, and approachable.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR C.
• Able to provide a Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector screening dated within the last six months that is satisfactory to the Town.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Kids’ Yoga is an asset.
• Kids Yoga certification is an asset.
• CanFitPro FIS certification and experience instructing fitness classes is an asset.
• High Five® Training is an asset.

What is Offered to Staff

• Rate of Pay: $38.72 – $42.09 per hour.
• Hours of Work: This is a part time non-union position that works up to 24 hours per week.   The hours of work are Monday to Sunday, various shifts between 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.
