Job Overview

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for leading all canfitpro marketing efforts, with an emphasis on content calendar and asset delivery timelines. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the brand image and corporate marketing strategy through internal and paid marketing efforts. This role is responsible for the development and management of day-to-day communication and marketing projects with the primary objective of increasing sales and engagement through social media, website, email, SEO, programmatic ads, and other emerging marketing channels. This role includes the planning, directing, and coordinating with the management team within the context of canfitpro’s purpose, mission, and vision, while managing a team and overseeing their performance and development.

Key Responsibilities

Developing, planning, and executing digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising

  • Managing content calendars to develop marketing strategies consistent across all channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize member experience
  • Oversee marketing automation plans and ensure integration with CRM

Measure the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and provide additional analysis

  • Monitor and analyze data through various sources, including Google Analytics, marketing surveys, programmatic results, heatmaps, social media insights.
  • Monitor and track department and team KPIS’s
  • Develop a marketing budget and ensure marketing and advertising allocations are met

Evaluate emerging trends and technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate

  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
  • collaborate with an internal Public Relations Team and external agencies to create and implement a media relations strategy

Manages direct reports and the people requirements of the Department/Team using provided tools and resources to ensure the successful execution of all key responsibilities and tasks, retention of great talent, and high Associate engagement.

  • Facilitates recruitment of direct reports alongside the Talent Acquisition Department to ensure adequate resourcing based on approved Department/Team budget.
  • Leads the onboarding, coaching, learning, development, and performance management of all direct reports to ensure a positive and safe working experience.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Required:

Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Marketing and/or Communications 

Work Experience

Minimum Required:

  • 5 + years’ experience in a marketing supervisor or management role
  • 5 + years in digital marketing, communications, or related disciplines

Preferred:

  • 2 + years Managing Projects including budgets
  • Experience and interest in the fitness industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Required:

  • Proven marketing success in driving revenue & profitability and engagement
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing including SEM, SEO, social media, programmatic for advertising and generating sales
  • Ability to excel in a team environment to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Build strong relationships with all levels of the organization as well as external partners, sponsors, vendors, and contractors
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of marketing funnels through automation, drips, nurture journeys and proven ability to increase lead capture and reduce churn

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics   applications, including: Marketing automation platform and CRM database.
  • Social media managers (Later.com, Social Sprout), Website (WordPress)
