Elevating women’s health and leadership is important for the fitness industry. Women in Leadership is one of canfitpro’s pillars and reflects our company’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Women leaders bring diverse perspectives and innovative ideas, which directly impact the health of companies. Having women in leadership roles has been shown to improve collaboration and inspire employees to support a company’s mission. Women demonstrate more transformative leadership approaches that can drive creativity, foster resilience, and boost financial progress. Furthermore, we at canfitpro understand the need to prioritize women’s health and well-being to promote their longevity in their roles and their continued success and career advancement. Even though progress has been made in having more gender-diverse workplaces, and the growing evidence of the importance of women occupying leadership positions for the health and growth of business, there are concerns that women in C-suite positions are losing ground and this could slow down progress that could impact the health of businesses.

This year we will be featuring several sessions at canfitpro Global Conference and Trade Show that we hope will help women soar to new heights in their leadership so they can experience new levels of success. On Saturday, August 10th from 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., join us for Empowering Leadership: A Tribute to Women Who Lead & Influence, a transformative panel session guided by industry leaders that will focus on the opportunities and challenges women experience as they grow their careers in the fitness industry. The session is intended to spark ambition, foster collaboration, and elevate your leadership confidence through dynamic dialogue and relevant topics that everyone can benefit from. Don’t miss the chance to shape a future where women lead, inspire, and influence with unparalleled impact. Then, come to our Closing Ceremonies and Keynote Address from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. featuring Perdita Felicien. Perdita Felicien is a two-time Olympian, 10-time National Champion, two-time World silver medalist, and the first Canadian woman to win a World Championship gold medal in track and field. During her career as a 100-metre hurdler, she earned numerous honours, including Canada’s Athlete of the Year and the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal. In her inspiring talks, Felicien explores what it means to chase a dream and overcome the “hurdles” life can put before you.

Soaring to new heights begins with the courage to step forward and seek the support and community that fuels your aspirations. At canfitpro, we are dedicated to empowering women to achieve their dreams in fitness, leadership, and life. It’s a well-known fact that women often underestimate their worth, waiting for opportunities to come to them rather than seizing them boldly. This blog serves as a reminder: your actions matter.

Within canfitpro, we celebrate the profound impact of women leaders through initiatives like the Sharon Mann Inspiration Award & Scholarship. This prestigious award, named in memory of the remarkable Sharon Mann, honors women in the fitness industry who embody traits of personal courage, growth mindset, influence, inspiration, and community impact. Let this be the year you find the courage to nominate yourself or a deserving colleague. Together, let’s elevate women’s health and leadership to even greater heights.
